Bespoke Web Design

With so much competition in the marketplace, you will need to stand out from the crowd online. I will create you a unique business website with well-structured content, site architecture that will strengthen your brand with a recognizable and consistent message online.

Website Management

I’ll take the stress and time out of keeping things up-to-date and backed up, leaving you to do what you do best – running your business. Many people don’t realise the importance of keeping their website up-to-date. It’s not just the content, but more importantly, the themes and plugins, and even the WordPress core itself. If these aren’t maintained, your site runs the serious risk of being vulnerable to hacking, running slowly and not displaying properly.

Below are some Frequently Asked Questions if you have a question that is not listed below,
please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

How much does a website cost?

We offer packages starting at £399. Please see our Web Design page for details.

What do you use to build the website?

I use WordPress for our websites. WordPress is a website creation platform and content management system, which means that it is software used to create and maintain websites.

Can I use my own web hosting?

Yes, you can! However, I recommend that you choose a web host that provides a good level of support. I can help advise you on this if you need help selecting a web hosting provider.

Do I have to sign up for your website management service?

If you ask me to host your website for you, I will sign you up to our website management service, which allows me to keep your website updated and secure. If you’re not keen on the ongoing monthly fee, you can choose to arrange your own web hosting, and I can build your website on that for you. If you decide to go down this route, I will still offer ongoing amendments to your website at an hourly rate. Thou please note I will not be able to support your hosting going forward.

What are the features of the website management service?

Web Hosting

Our web hosting provides everything that you need for your website, including:

  1. A database for your website and storage for your website files
  2. Email addresses
  3. SSL Certificate for security

Domain Name Management

We will look after your domain names, making any changes needed to connect them up to your website and keeping them registered. No nasty surprises!

Website Backing Up and Software Updating

On a quarterly basis we will carry out backing up and software updating on your website. Our tried and tested procedure consists of the following:

  1. Back up your website and scan it for anything suspicious
  2. Update the versions of WordPress, plugins and themes installed on the site
  3. Test the site to make sure the updates were successful
  4. Back up the updated website
  5. Provide you with support for any changes introduced by the updates

Why is that important?

We are passionate about the need to keep websites updated.

Gone are the days when you could have a website built and not touch it again… Oh ok, I admit it those days never actually existed – it’s always been super important to keep your website content updated. But now that the majority of websites are running on a content management system like WordPress, you also have the job of keeping the software updated.

It’s important because it will:

  • Help keep your website secure from hackers
  • Help keep the site running smoothly as web technology changes
  • Keep Google happy

If you don’t take the time to update your software the worst case scenario would be that your site gets hacked, which believe me isn’t much fun! And if you leave it too long you may be looking at a rebuild – that is a pretty extreme case, but can happen.
